I did some Padres therapy on the show tonight because people needed it. I’m done hearing “tip your cap to the other guy” every single night. Sure, it might be the honest, real explanation of what happened out there, but I can’t do that anymore. At some point you have to start hitting if you want to play meaningful baseball in October.
During the round table today they pointed out the Padres have faced more pitchers throwing 98-plus miles an hour than anybody in baseball, so there’s a little vindication there. But Manny’s average is still stuck below .200 right now, and I keep saying he’s going to catch fire eventually. At some point I have to stop predicting it and just hope for it, because what if it doesn’t happen?
Daily Gripe: soccer players flopping around like they broke a leg and popping right back up five minutes later. Can’t stand it. Other than that, I’m all in on the World Cup — watching every minute of it this weekend.
